La Mesa Village Antique Street Faire...

Sunday afternoon Meggy and I shook out the cobwebs and met up with Cathy and her daughter. Circled our wagons and headed East to La Mesa for some Antique Street Fairing. Lots of cool stuff to check out. Megan scored a sweet owl ring. We also picked up two old canvas prints of Jesus and Mary. Buuut the purchase of the day goes to this little gem. A Coors AM Can Radio....Original warranty card still in the box...this bad boy is like new! I see a lot of AM tunage headed our way!

A Quiet Little Saturday Evening...

Filled with Sushi, Orion, Sake, Jameson, Bar Hopping and Wizardry.

We started off at Ebisu for dinner...ALWAYS FANTASTIC!
Walked in and out of The Wit's End...Waaay too busy.
Meandered over to Live Wire for a round.
Up the street to The Red Fox Room for a few more rounds.
Across the street to Gilly's for the nail in the coffin and some Karaoke viewing. Solid night...good times...lots of laughs!

Sleeping in...

Murph wasn't ready to get out of bed this morning...he FORCED me into sleeping in an extra hour. I didn't want to move my arm and wake the poor guy up.

Robert Monkay...

Horrible lettering...I think I'll try that one again sometime soon. Eh...The more I look at it...I do like the first "R".

Megosaurus...

Stegosaurus is Mega's favorite dinosaur...Usually she draws one and I draw a penis on it. I know, I know...super grown up. I am way into sophisticated humor these days...get used to it! According to Snorg Tee's "Rawr" means "I Love You" in dinosaur. Love you Meggy!

Mayday...Mayday...

Mayday...We're going down.

Murph in the Tub...

Someone looks guilty!

Free Stuff...

Periodically at work our Marketing Department/Peoples of importance clean out their office and/or stumble across a storage room full of merchandise that never saw the light of day and they need to get rid of it...It's usually crusty 989 Sports clothing or copies of PS One games. So they send out a company email labeled "Free stuff in this room." And it usually gets mobbed and all the "good stuff" is usually gone ASAP.

We got one of these emails last week...I was skeptical but the Baseball Team is on vacation and Steve P rallied me...so we strolled over. Much to my surprise I spotted an autographed helmet from a 989 Sports Quarterback Challenge...so I nabbed it. Pretty stoked on it...I am still waiting for someone to ask for it back. I did some research and I am pretty sure it is from 2004...17 Autographs total...so far there are only 4 names I haven't decoded...yet. Ahhh the power of the world wide internets.

Murphs is a muthafuckin'...

Moth killer! Whadda you wanna be when you grow up?
Moth killer! Good choice.
Moth killer! I'm a muthafuckin'
Moth killer!

Last night as we walked down the hall Muprh was going APE SHIT! Mothra was in the bedroom buzzing the light and Murph wasn't having it! He wasn't going to rest until he ate that damn thing. He was talking to it...I kept saying "get that moth" and he would start meowing at it. It was awesome...Like having an attack Saber Toothed Tiger. He was tyring to find the most strategic striking position...running around the room...debating jumping on top of furniture. Then the moth buzzed him...he swatted it like King Kong at those swarming bi-planes, Knocked it towards the ground, Jumped off the bed after it, Mothra regained consciousness then started gaining altitude, Murph ran at his tower and back flipped off of it, jumped on the bed and lept like a Puma and rolled up Mothra like there was no tomorrow. But we couldn't find his remains...he musta dissolved back into outer space. Which made Murph case the room like he was a customs agent for the next hour and a half...He finally gave up. That shit was baddasss. Wish I had video!

And I woke up this morning singing Body Count's Cop Killer with the "Cop" replaced with "Moth" now I am kinda wanting to jam out to the Judgement Night Soundtrack. Don't leave a lot of comments about how amazing and awesome this is...I know...I was there!

Irish Overload...

I promise this might be the last St. Patrick's Day related post...maybe. Let me start off by saying I LOVE the corned beef tacos at Hooley's I was skeptical at first but all it took was one bite and I was a fan...Thank you Andrei! I REALLY whole heartedly feel that I gave them a run for their money tonight in the corned beef taco category.

Megan and I ran to the store and picked up every ingredient to make tacos...minus the corned beef that I had already flubbed on this morning. And a few beverages. Not to get off subject but if you are a fan of Sam Adams Cherry Wheat...Which Chris and Andrea I know you are. Cherry Wheat and Guinness Black and Tan style...PREEETY damn tasty...if you are into that kind of stuff.

Back to it...White corn tortillas lightly buttered, lightly salted, slapped in a frying pan just to get them slightly crunchy, Shredded cabbage, Slow cooked shredded corned beef, Mexican blend shredded cheese, Diced tomatoes, Chopped cilantro, Diced yellow onion, two small dollops of Crema Mexicana Agria, Topped with green onions and a few drizzles of Cholula...Thrown together street taco style...I can't even begin to describe how amazing this was tonight!

Guinness Stew...

For lunch at O'Briens...TASTY! Getting excited for dinner...Corned Beef Tacos!

This one got passed on to me today:
What's the difference between St. Patty's Day and Cinco De Mayo?
Everyone wants to be Irish on St. Patty's Day!

Aaaand Steve had a few great toasts on his blog:

May those that love us, love us.
And those that don’t love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if he doesn’t turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So we’ll know them by their limping.

&

May misfortune follow you the rest of your life...and never catch up.

Murphy's St. Patrick's Day Blessings...

Murphy pissed that I woke him up...and him realizing he is cuddling up with his stuffed animal...He has a real love hate relationship with that thing...ever since the day we brought him home...when he was a wee little saber toothed tiger.

On an additional St. Patrick's Day note...I received an email from Dr. Jon Volek wishing everyone a great day filled with beer and whiskey. And he had a little ditty attached that I would like to pass on to all of you.

In life, there are only two things to worry about.
Either you are well or you are sick.
If you are well, there is nothing to worry about.
But if you are sick, there are only two things to worry about.
Either you will get well or you will die.
If you get well, there is nothing to worry about.

But if you die, there are only two things to worry about.
Either you will go to heaven or hell.
If you go to heaven, there is nothing to worry about.
And if you go to hell, you’ll be so busy shaking hands with all your friends.
You won’t have time to worry!

Happy St. Patrick's Day...

My sweet little Irish lass!

I tossed a fatty corned beef in the slow cooker this morning...So stoked! I can already taste it...Yuuuuuum! We decided instead of traditional Irish fare we are are going with corned beef tacos tonight!

UPDATE: Aaaand as soon as I got close to work this morning I realized I didn't turn on the crock pot...Nice work! Luckily Mega works close to home...she's gunna fire it up on her lunch break. Mega to the rescue!

UPDATED UPDATE: Megan saves the day...Slow cooker is activated...Dinner is saved!

2009 St. Patrick's Day Parade...

Strolled down to Balboa Park for the St. Patrick's Day parade/Bernadette's b-day shenanagins. Had some Irish stew in a bread bowl...I got more on my shirt than I did in my mouth. Sampled quite a few Guinness...just to keep some quaility control going. After the parade we stopped in at Nunu's for a few then continued down to Baja Betty's for a little birthday dinner. Massive Margaritas and Huge portions-o-food. Pretty tasty...Worked out well! Then to the Alibi to drive the final nail in the coffin. Great little day!
